Role & Responsibilities
The Dishwasher’s primary objective is to maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment while supporting the culinary team with basic food preparation. This role plays a key part in overall kitchen efficiency and provides a pathway for growth into prep and event cook positions.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
• Load, operate, and unload the dish machine efficiently
• Monitor water temperature and chemical levels to ensure proper sanitation standards
• Keep dish machine clean and report any mechanical or operational issues promptly
• Properly wash, sanitize, air dry, and store all kitchenware and utensils
• Maintain adequate levels of dishwashing chemicals and cleaning supplies
• Keep dish room, food prep, and production areas clean and organized
• Remove trash and maintain cleanliness of kitchen and surrounding areas
• Ensure exterior areas remain clean and presentable
• Clean restrooms and facility areas daily and as needed

Prep & Kitchen Support Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with basic food prep (washing, peeling, chopping vegetables; portioning ingredients)
• Prepare simple recipes and ingredients under chef supervision
• Support setup and breakdown of kitchen stations for events and service
• Label, date, and properly store food items following food safety standards
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, walk-ins, and dry storage
• Learn proper knife skills and kitchen techniques with guidance from culinary leadership

Qualifications & Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a restaurant dish room or kitchen preferred
• Interest in learning culinary skills and growing within a kitchen environment
• Customer service experience is a plus
• Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to stay positive and efficient in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable transportation
