Catering Event Manager

Catering and Events Manager

Summary

The Catering and Events Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the catering department’s day to day operations as it permits to maintaining our client’s expectations in quality, productivity and efficiency.

Activities & Responsibilities

· Finalize logistics in regards to staffing, setup, and breakdown for each event

· Responsible for approving daily/weekly schedules for hourly staff and salaried ops managers

· Maintain labor budget with hourly employees

· Assist in maintaining relationships with staff and management team to create a positive work environment

· Prepare budget and financial plans for operations department with CEO.

· Supervise food arrangement, transportation, setup and clean up activities to ensure successful and profitable catering events.

· Design & standardize what all displays and buffets look like based on menu items and guest count with Warehouse Manager.

· Review all event orders to determine staffing levels, distribution, and execution the week of events.

· Communicate with Sales Department availability of last minute orders and add ons efficiently.

· Communicate with Exec Chef on times for all events to ensure proper food delivery and pick up times are met while maintaining our standards of food, beverage and event specifications.

· Oversee the hiring and training of catering staff on catering processes and policies with Staffing Coordinator. Set training goals and ensure implementation with followup.

· Coaches, counsels, retrains personnel as needed in order to ensure superior levels of performance

· On-site staff training and mentoring at events.

· Implement company policies regarding quality of products and services offered.

· Achieve sales goals and revenue targets through successful operation of catering events.

Qualifications and Experience

-2-5 years in an Event/Catering Environment

-Strong attention to detail

-Time management

-Ability to problem solve and adjust quickly to surroundings

-Excellent interpersonal skills regarding client and staff management

-Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office

-Flexibility to work nights and weekends as event schedule requires

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package starting at $22 an hour (based on experience).

Physical Requirements

Work load will encompass a 20-40 hour work week. This job will require working weekends and some holidays including New Years Eve. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty exceptionally well.
